Restoring Dignity Behind Bars – A Mid-Year Impact Snapshot

At Cottage of Hope, every intervention is a declaration that no life is beyond redemption. From January to June 2025, our mission of advocacy and empowerment led to transformational milestones for incarcerated individuals and their families.

During this period:

• Three inmates, unjustly held without trial for over seven years, were finally released through legal intervention.

• Four individuals, once facing life imprisonment, were granted significantly reduced sentences through effective plea bargaining.

• Twelve pregnant women received consistent maternal care while in custody.

• Three safe deliveries were fully sponsored behind prison walls.

• We enrolled four inmates under the Eko Ilera health insurance scheme, ensuring access to medical care.

• Five ex-offenders, lovingly referred to as Hopefuls, received holistic reintegration support — spanning emotional healing, financial assistance, and spiritual mentorship.

Our work also extended to supporting families. A daughter of an inmate was able to sit for her Post-UTME exams due to your generous support.
